In the Islamic calendar there are several months that are called haram months, including the months of Dzulkaidah, Dzulhijah, Muharram including the month of Rajab, why are they called haram months? It is so named because in that month Allah SWT forbids all His servants from committing sins or doing things that are considered haram according to Islamic law, and is encouraged to do as much good as possible. Throughout the month of Rajab there are various kinds of practices that can be done so that you can achieve abundant blessings and rewards, below are practices that you can do during the month of Rajab.
Fast
Fasting is one of the practices of the month of Rajab which has many advantages when carried out. It is sunnah for Muslims to observe Ayyamul Bidh fasting in the month of Rajab 1445 H. Ayyamul Bidh means sunny days, days whose nights are illuminated by the full moon. Narrated from Ibn Abbas ra, he said: 'The Messenger of Allah often did not eat (fasted) on days where the night was clear (ayyamul bidh) both at home and when traveling' (HR an-Nasa'i with sanad hasan). Below are the intentions of Ayyamul Bidh fasting.
God bless you
Nawaytu shauma ayyâmil bîdl lillâhi ta'âlâ.
It means, "I intend to fast on Ayyamul Bidh (days with clear nights), because of Allah ta'âlâ."
Reading Shalawat
Some prayers that can be read include the Jibril prayer, to the Nariyah and Badar prayers. Reading prayers has many advantages, and can be done at any time.
From Abdurrahman bin Auf, Rasulullah SAW said:
"Jibril came to me and said, "O Muhammad, no one prays to you unless seventy thousand angels pray for you. And whoever the angel prays for will be among the inhabitants of heaven."
Turning on the first night of the month of Rajab
Muslims are encouraged to worship and pray to Allah SWT, because the first night of the month of Rajab is an efficacious night. This is explained in the book Al-Umm, Imam Syafi'i:
website ي خَمسِ لَيَالٍ فِي لَيلَةِ الْجُمعَةِ، وَ لَيلَةِ الْاضْحَى، وَ لَ يْلَةِ الْفِطْرِ، وَلَيلةٍ مِن رَجَب وَ لَيلَةٍ النِّصفَ مَِن شَعبَ ان
"Indeed prayers are said on five nights: Friday night, Eid al-Adha night, Eid al-Fitr night, the first night of the month of Rajab, and the middle night of the month of Sha'ban."
Let's maximize our practices during this month of Rajab so that we can become better people.
