Isra Mi'raj are two journeys carried out by the Prophet Muhammad SAW in one night, on this occasion the Prophet Muhammad SAW received the order to perform the five prayers every day. Isra Mi'raj occurred at the final stage of the prophetic period in Mecca, before the Prophet Muhammad SAW moved to Medina. According to a number of scholars, Isra Mi'raj occurred in the first year before the hijrah, around 620-621 AD. Although there are differences of opinion regarding the exact date, the majority of scholars determine the night of 27 Rajab as the time when it is certain that this event occurred.
The Isra Mi'raj event is divided into two parts, namely Isra and Mi'raj. In Isra, the Prophet Muhammad SAW "departed" from the Grand Mosque to the Aqsa Mosque in Palestine. Furthermore, in the Mi'raj, the Prophet Muhammad SAW was raised into the sky until he reached Sidratul Muntaha, the highest place. This is where the apostle received direct orders from Allah SWT to perform the five daily prayers. When the Prophet Muhammad SAW met Allah during the Mi'raj event, he expressed expressions of reverence and reverence, emphasizing that majesty belongs only to Allah.
Through the Isra Mi'raj event, Allah showed some of the signs of His greatness directly, because at that time the Prophet Muhammad SAW was experiencing difficult times and was grieving. At this event, the Prophet Muhammad was also met with previous prophets, so that Muhammad SAW could also see that they were also experiencing difficult times, so that the Prophet SAW increased in motivation and enthusiasm. This is also a reminder to Muslims today, that behind all the difficulties they face, Allah SWT is truly all-hearing and all-knowing.
Let us make this Isra Mi'raj commemoration a momentum by increasing our faith in the Creator, by improving our prayers, starting from purifying ourselves to praying at the beginning of time. Improving prayer means improving our relationship with Allah SWT, the hope is that we will always receive blessings and protection from Him, so that Isra Mi'raj is not just a once a year momentum but a momentum to increase the level of our faith in the Creator.
